The Type Directors Club Pratt Student Group is proud to sponsor a screening of Linotype: The Film. It will be shown on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Pratt’s campus in Brooklyn. The screening is open to open to all Pratt students and faculty, and to the greater Pratt and TDC communities.

About the Event
The film will be screening at Higgins Hall, located at the Pratt Institute’s School of Architecture in Brooklyn, NY. Seating is general admission. Doors will open after 6:30PM and the screening will begin promptly at 7PM. Please have a photo ID along with a paper copy of your EventBrite ticket.
This event is open to all Pratt students and faculty, and to the greater Pratt and TDC communities.
Following the screening, there will be a question and answer period with the film’s director, Doug Wilson.
About the film
Linotype: The Film is a feature-length documentary centered around the Linotype type casting machine. Called the “Eighth Wonder of the World” by Thomas Edison, it revolutionized printing and society. The film tells the surprisingly emotional story of the people connected to the Linotype and how it impacted the world.
