The TDC Annual 27 is an 8.5x11.25", 350 page, hardbound volume containing the best of type and typography from the year 2005.

The Annual for the year 2005-2006 was designed by Andy Kner.

The color Annual contains full-color illustrations, including the winning selections from entries into the TDC52 Typography Competition, and the winning selections from entries into the TDC2 2006 Type Design Competition.

Typography 27 also includes a very special section, celebrating the twenty-seventh anniversary publication of the hardcover Annual, of a reprinting of the original catalog pages from the third TDC Competition from 1956, which was the second to have a printed catalog. Reprinted here in the context of the Annual are many of the classic works of modernist typography from that time.
