Renew your Membership
As a member of The Type Directors Club you will receive:
• Typography, the Type Directors Club Annual, which includes winning entries from the TDC’s three typography competitions
• Publication of member name in the Type Directors Annual Typography
• Publication of member name on the TDC website
• Discounted entry and hanging fees in the Type Directors Annual competitions
• Access to the TDC Archive and Library
• Free admission to select TDC events including third Thursday Type Salons
• Discounted fees for classes and Master Classes
• Discounted fees for gift memberships
• Discounted rates from TDC partners (TypeCon, Atypi)
• TDC membership badge for use on your communications
Levels of Membership
There are five different levels of membership. The options below explain the advantages of each level of membership. Fill out the application form to receive all the advantages of membership in TDC.
Regular Membership:
Those who are actively engaged in the use or design of type, as designers, production professionals or type creators. Annual dues are:
• $195 within a 60-mile radius of New York City
• $175 outside this radius but within the USA
• $190 outside the USA
Associate Membership:
Individuals who are non-professionals with an interest in the fields of typography, typography design or the graphic arts.
• Annual Associate dues are $175
Student Membership:
STUDENT MEMBERSHIP, UPPER CASE
Those who are currently enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate studies leading to a career in design or the graphic arts. This level of student membership also receives the Typography Annual. Proof of your current student status, including your student ID number, is required and must accompany this application.
• Annual student dues are $75
STUDENT MEMBERSHIP, LOWER CASE
This level of student membership offers the same benefits as Upper Case student membership, above, but does not receive the Typography Annual.
• Annual student dues are $45
Corporate Membership:
The TDC welcomes a higher level of participation from individuals, businesses, and corporations who annually support TDC’s mission.
CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP, SEMI-BOLD LEVEL — $1,000
(includes 5 memberships)
All the benefits of regular membership plus:
• A copy of the Typography Annual
• An additional copy of the Annual for your firm’s reference library
• Free admission to select events
• Your firm’s name/logo displayed in our Annual and Public Relations materials
• Sponsorship of a Type Salon
CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP, BOLD LEVEL — $1,500
(includes 10 memberships)
All the benefits of regular membership plus:
• A copy of the Typography Annual
• An additional copy of the Annual for your firm’s reference library
• Free admission to select events
• Your firm’s name/logo displayed in our Annual and Public Relations materials
• Sponsorship of a Type Salon
• Placement of your name/logo on our website
CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP, EXTRA BOLD LEVEL — $2,500
(includes 15 memberships)
All the benefits of regular membership plus:
• A copy of the Typography Annual
• An additional copy of the Annual for your firm’s reference library
• Free admission to select events
• Sponsorship of a Type Salon including your company’s name/logo on all Salon announcements and presentations
• Your firm’s name/logo displayed in our Annual and Public Relations materials
• Primary placement of your name/logo on our website
Levels of Membership
