"We're at an incredible inflection point in the creative industry, where technology is changing how we make things, but human expression matters more than ever. This is especially true in the world of typography as a reflection of culture, identity, and our expanding world,” said Sunday Afternoon’s Rich Tu, who’s also a prestigious ADC Young Guns 8 winner.  “I'm excited to join TDC at a moment when the boundaries between art, design, and technology are becoming increasingly fluid.  There’s a huge opportunity to celebrate not just work that’s best-in-class, but the folks who are rewriting the rules and taking the industry into new exciting places."

Ancho’s Beatriz Lozano added: "When I moved to New York nearly a decade ago, TDC welcomed me into a community that expanded my view of design and introduced me to generous mentors who opened many doors in my career.  Now based in Mexico City, I’m excited to join the Advisory Board and serve on the education and events committees. I look forward to helping build that same community for today’s young designers, across borders and languages."

TDC, part of The One Club for Creativity, runs the prestigious global TDC competition, offers Beatrice Warde, Adé Hogue and TDC scholarship programs, coordinates annual traveling global exhibitions of award-winning work, produces the Type Drives Culture conference series, and hosts numerous talks, panels, and workshops throughout the year.

The TDC73 competition is currently open for entries.  Early bird deadline for digital and physical entries is Friday, January 22, 2027, with entry fees increasing for the regular deadline of Friday, February 12, 2027, and final deadline on Friday, March 5, 2027.
