FOUNDRY: Novo Typo
CONCEPT:
Novo Typo's Bixe, a digital multicolored font designed for the web, leaves the computer and transforms into an analog wooden typeface. Every letter exists in four colors and thus four printings. The Typewood project shows the entire process: from type design, to the production of the wooden type with a hypermodern CNC milling technique, to the testing and printin of the type specimen on an antique letterpress. This project defines modern techniques and reinvents old techniques.
