CONCEPT:

In Almond, a teenaged boy named Yunjae connects with humanity despite living with alexithymia, which is a medical condition caused by small amygdalae (sometimes referred to as ?the almonds? for their shape) and manifests as difficulty feeling emotions like fear or anger.



Youthful hand-lettering is tucked into almond shapes on the cover, delicately balanced to reflect Yunjae?s precariously navigated adolescence.
