Visiting us from France by way of Philadelphia—architect, graphic & type designer, and documentary author François Chastanet will present two sides of his work: his current research as a PhD candidate about graffiti of names’ handstyles in North and South America and the design process of open-paths or “single-line” font optimized for fablabs’ environments recently published on GitHub and Adobe Fonts platforms.

His presentation will show that these two seemingly distant topics are linked through a common skeletal design approach of Latin letterforms, addressing contemporary handwriting questions.
