SUMMARY:TDC64 Exhibition at EASD Soria\, Spain
DESCRIPTION:This marks the first time that EASD Soria hosts this exhibition of award-winning work. \nThe exhibition opening was held in conjunction with the 20th celebration of the art school's Graphic Design Days April 2 - 4. This exhibition is one of eight touring internationally to celebrate the World's Best Typography\, as judged by a panel of internationally renowned graphic designers in January 2018.  \nThe exhibition in Soria is open to the public and is on display in the school's assembly hall. This showing in Soria follows exhibitions in Barcelona and Sabadell\, and has been seen in South Korea\, Japan\, Poland\, Belgium\, Canada\, Vietnam\, and New Zealand.

SUMMARY:TDC64 Exhibition at AUT in Auckland NZ
DESCRIPTION:Type Directors Club is pleased to announce that its “The World’s Best Typography” exhibition is on view in Auckland\, New Zealand for the first time\, courtesy of award-winning design firm Osborne Shiwan and the School of Art and Design at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). \n \nDirect from its New York showing\, TDC64 Auckland is showcasing an exciting\, culturally diverse range of award-winning work from 36 countries. The exhibition is on display at St Paul St Gallery Three in Auckland from April 2 – 17. \nLloyd Osborne\, Creative Director at design agency Osborne Shiwan\, attributes interest in the exhibition to its global focus. “The Type Directors Club promotes diversity in typographic excellence through its encouragement of different languages in typography. We are proud to bring TDC64 to Auckland.”  \nThe exhibition presents over 200 works in typeface design and communications design\, chosen from 1\,835 entries by some of the design industry’s most recognized mentors\, innovators and thought-leaders\, with work in dozens of languages. The communications design portion of the exhibition integrates both professional and student work and features typography in a wide range of forms -- books\, posters\, corporate branding\, logos\, web graphics\, film and TV titles\, products\, and magazines. \n \nDr. Peter Gilderdale\, Senior Lecturer in Communication Design at AUT\, sees the event as an important opportunity in allowing New Zealand designers to view work in its original form\, rather than solely on the web. “We are excited to offer this opportunity to our students\, and we hope that the exhibition will act as a venue for the profession and our students to jointly share a passion for typography. We are delighted to be able to work with Osborne Shiwan in making this important exhibition happen.” \nAbout Osborne Shiwan \nFounded in 2006\, Osborne Shiwan is an Auckland-based design agency specializing in strategic thinking and art direction. Creative Directors Lloyd Osborne and Shabnam Shiwan have worked with some of New Zealand’s most influential brands and their work has been recognised internationally within the areas of commerce\, arts and culture.
