DESCRIPTION:The Type Directors Club is pleased to announce that its World’s Best Typography exhibition is coming to Auckland\, New Zealand for the second time\, courtesy of award-winning creative agency Osborne Shiwan and Portfolio Recruitment. \nDirect from its New York showing\, TDC65 Auckland will showcase an exciting and culturally diverse range of award-winning work chosen by some of the design industry’s most recognised mentors\, creative innovators and thought-leaders. The exhibition will be on display at Auckland University of Technology’s St Paul St Gallery Two from March 4 to 28. \nLloyd Osborne\, Creative Director at Osborne Shiwan\, thinks this is the best reflection of current typographic excellence at an international level. “This competition received thousands of submissions that were narrowed to just 253 examples from over 38 countries. There is a wealth of diversity on show\, through language\, culture\, and type design. As alumni\, we are proud to bring TDC65 to AUT.” \nAs well as communication design\, TDC65 Auckland will showcase typefaces chosen from a record 350 submissions\, including ‘Serif UI’ by the Apple Design Team and ‘Heldane’ by New Zealand based Kris Sowersby at Klim. \nThe exhibition is free and open to the public. DESCRIPTION:Organized by ECV Nantes in partnership with the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Nantes (ENSA)\, the Type Directors Club 65 exhibition will take place from Wednesday March 4 to Saturday March 28\, 2020 at Galerie Loire\, 6 quai François Mitterrand. \nTDC 65: a traveling exhibition\nFounded in 1946\, the Type Directors Club was founded in New York to promote the art of typography and the quality of creation of typographic design. Today\, TDC organizes an annual competition to recognize the best typographic font design and graphic design in communication media\, such as posters\, book covers\, magazines\, packaging\, signage\, film credits\, and web design. Since its founding\, TDC has grown\, creating an international network known for its professionalism and outreach to the world. ECV Nantes is proud to play its role in TDC's international outreach. For the past fifteen years\, the ECV has hosted TDC traveling exhibitions\, which arrive in a suitcase containing a wide range of items selected each year by a professional jury\, representing the best of contemporary graphic and typographic creations. \nECV Nantes x TDC\, a visual collaboration\nEach year\, students in the first-year Masters in Graphic Design program at ECV Nantes are invited to design the visual identity for the exhibition as a group project. A jury selected the project of Teddy Pouteau\, Morgan Texier and Peio Ospital for the visual identity of the TDC 65 in Nantes. Visitors can admire their work on the façade of the Loire Gallery throughout the exhibition. \nTDC65 visual identity project of Teddy Pouteau\, Morgan Texier\, and Peio Ospital on the gallery facade. \nAs part of this  annual Nantes graphic arts celebration\, the TDC exhibition is an opportunity for students and the public in Nantes to see the work of established agencies and students from graphic design and visual communication schools around the world. \nTours\nTo take full advantage of the exhibition\, the public is invite to attend guided and commented tours: \n\nSaturday March 7 at 3 p.m. with Margaux Meunier Le Cann and Antonin Boiveau\, founders of Antonin + Margaux\, a communications agency specializing in visual identity.\nSaturday March 21 at 3 p.m. with Thierry Fétiveau\, Freelance graphic and typographic designer.\n\nHours\nTDC 65 exhibition is on view from Wednesday March 4 to Saturday March 28\, 2020 at the Galerie Loire\, 6 quai François Mitterand - Nantes. The exhibition is free to the public and can be seen every day\, except Sunday\, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

DESCRIPTION:TDC71 at Creative Week 2025 – Recap \nCreative Week 2025 rolled out the red carpet for four acclaimed award shows celebrating the best in global creativity. Among them\, the Type Directors Club’s 71st Annual Exhibition spotlighted typographic excellence through its TDC71 Winners Showcase\, held at The One Club for Creativity in New York. \nThe TDC71 exhibition featured 170 winning entries across Communication Design\, Type Design\, and Lettering\, selected from 26 countries. Each category celebrated a Best of Discipline winner: \n\n\nBest of Communication Design: New York City FC Branding – Gretel with Frere-Jones Type \n\n\nBest of Type Design: Naatak – Ek Type \n\n\nBest of Lettering: Stanford d.School Yearbook 2023 – Daniel Frumhoff Design \n\n\nIn addition to category winners\, the jury selected standout projects as their personal Judges’ Choice honorees. These were presented by: \n\n\nMin Lew (Communication Design) \n\n\nCharles Nix on behalf of Sahar Afshar (Type Design) \n\n\nDavid Jon Walker (Lettering) \n\n\nEach Judges’ Choice highlighted work of exceptional craft\, innovation\, or cultural relevance.
