David Jon Walker is a designer and Professor of Art in Graphic Design at the Yale School of Art. He is also principal of Rhealistic Design, a design consultancy that is active locally and nationally. Examining social cues and the historical past, he has crafted the aesthetic of his visual voice for personal lettering projects with fun and intention. His award-winning works have been recognized by Graphic Design USA, Campaigns and Elections, the International Association of Business Communicators, AIGA, the Type Directors Club, Typism and the College Media Association. He has worked with a wide range of clientele, including HarperCollins Publishers, American Greetings, The Poster House Museum, the Birmingham Museum of Art, the National Museum of African American Music, the Country Music Hall of Fame,The Art Institute of Chicago, Princeton University Library, Northwestern University Law School, Yale University and many more. He has taught at the University of Memphis, Middle Tennessee State University and was tenured at Austin Peay State University. He holds MFAs in graphic design from the Yale School of Art and the University of Memphis with focuses in Letterform Design and web design respectively.
