Vincent Chan is a Naarm (Melbourne)-based type designer who works under the moniker Matter of Sorts. Vincent was conferred his doctoral degree in 2021 from Monash Art Design & Architecture where his research explored alternative models of typographic practice. He has been a contributing winner and finalist in numerous Australia Graphic Design Association and Designers Institute of New Zealand Best Design awards and in 2019 was granted an Ascender award from the Type Directors Club. He is the unit coordinator of Typography 1 and Type Design at Monash Art, Design and Architecture where he has taught for over 9 years.
