Almandin

Description

Almandin is a slightly calligraphic sans-serif typeface developed with no time constraints, in a spirit of free experimentation. Created by four hands, the project evolved significantly from its early sketches. Influenced by Robert Slimbach’s work (especially Cronos) and shaped by training at the École Estienne, it aims to balance neutrality with a strong personality. Almandin is a variable font, features a consistent character width across all weights—a technically demanding choice that enhances visual coherence.
