ANKA

Description

ANKA is a play organization providing emergency play support for displaced children after disasters and crises. Named after the phoenix, ANKA helps children rebuild through play. Through fun and explorative play sets, systematic and strategic planning, ANKA aims to be the first organization to offer play as part of the disaster relief interventions because disasters may destroy homes but with ANKA, children can rebuild and be a kid again.

ANKA offers fast, flexible, familiar and fun play systems before a disaster happens. These play systems can be involved in disaster preparedness plans made by local agencies and governments. With strategic planning, ANKA's play systems can be easily scaled to the expected disaster, location and children at risk. ANKA's first play set, Draw&Build, is consisted of paper pieces and crayons, and offers the necessary tools to explore and express emotions. Children can color the pieces, or draw on them, and build their creations to engage in storytelling. Made to be carried around, Draw&Build's packaging can turn into a bag while the name tag offers distinction and personalization. For further emotional support, ANKA offers a guide and emergency contacts information card for parents/caregivers. By being flexible and scalable, ANKA aims to help all displaced children around the world, no matter the crisis.

Just like the play sets, the brand system is designed to be as flexible as possible while maintaining a friendly yet strong outlook. ANKA uses an illustration style that mimics children's carefree and honest artistic approach. This child-like style not only supports the brand's mission and values, but also provides a personal and human touch to its storytelling. The organization's identity is carried through diverse touch-points with a focus on building trust, inspiring positive action, and creating a strong community of play.
