Khwabgah: Culture Kitchen

Khwabgah • خوابگاہ : a culture kitchen with a south asian heart based out of Amsterdam. Khwabgah translates to ‘the place of dreams’ ☁️ and so, with this identity and the animations, the idea was to evoke the sensation of drifting through dreams — through nostalgia, through stars, through that hazy sweet feeling of wonder and magic a dream gives us!
The visual direction drew inspiration from the nostalgia of a South Asian home kitchen. To bring this to life, we combined Latin and Urdu typography, reflecting the fusion of two cultures—East and West—coming together in a kitchen based in Amsterdam. This concept was thoughtfully crafted to align with the vision and needs of the amazing founders.
The word mark is entirely hand-drawn calligraphy, without the use of any existing typefaces, and is rooted in our personal styles of working, illustration, and typography.
