La Divina Commedia
Description
This work explores "desire" in modern society, where materialism leads to restlessness and irrational behaviors to satisfy personal wants. Issues like consumerism and hedonism are prevalent challenges. "The Divine Comedy" offered insights into these struggles during the Renaissance. By researching "The Divine Comedy," I identified four symbols of human desire: lust, anger, envy, and hubris. These symbols inspired me to create over 300 paintings and interpret 2000 pages of classical literature. The bilingual work, in Chinese and Western languages, features unique binding. The Western version uses a "back-to-back" method to separate "Heaven" and "Hell," offering unique content on each page, while the Chinese edition applies traditional thread binding. Through books and exhibitions, this project seeks to guide individuals toward spiritual and moral discovery, promoting self-reconciliation in today's world.
