Oja Display
Description
Oja Display is an expressive display typeface inspired by the Oja, a traditional flute from Eastern Nigeria. The design translates the instrument’s finger-hole patterns and breath-driven tapering into bold, sculptural letterforms.
Echoing tradition, shaping the present, Oja Display carries the voice of ancestry in every letter. It is ideal for impactful headlines, editorial design, branding, and cultural projects. Its character set—including punctuation, figures, and diacritics—was drawn with attention to counterbalance, spacing, and optical refinement. The result is a typeface that merges cultural storytelling with modern typographic craft, proposing a fresh perspective on how African material culture can inspire new typographic forms.
