Perspecta 56: Not Found

Description

Perspecta: The Yale Architectural Journal is the oldest student-edited architectural journal in the United States and is internationally respected for its contributions to contemporary architectural discourse with original presentations of new projects as well as historical and theoretical essays. This issue of Perspecta considers the complexities and potentialities of architectural concealment, obfuscation, and mimicry; of the power inherent in architecture’s expanding capacity as media. In the veiled extents of our physical and digital worlds, what is still not found?

Using transparent varnish, elements of the book—such as titles, bylines, and image frames—are concealed, becoming hyper-visible in the reflection of light. Throughout the book, image separations in black and metallic silver ink combine and deconstruct in various configurations. The book is typeset in Executive by Optimo Type Foundry and features a custom monospaced version of Executive, designed by Cat Wentworth in cooperation with Optimo.
