Sharp Roman

Description

This typeface is the calligraphic convergence of two distinct origin stories. The roman uppercase forms are the designer’s take on the Trajan Monumental Roman Capitals via Edward Catich, while the Italic is based on the work of Pedro Diaz “El Maestro” Morante. It becomes more than the sum of its parts, offering a wealth of typographic potential: instantly indelible, elegant in its expressiveness, and full of bravura. It skillfully connects the work of two masters who were separated by continents and centuries into a single family sharing a calligraphic framework, making for a typeface that is classical in its construction and contemporary in its execution.
