Words of Type
Description
Words of Type is a multilingual encyclopedia of typography. After several years of work listing down the words, writing their descriptions in English and French, producing illustrations in-house and commissioning others, collaborating with experts in other languages to translate and proofread all descriptions in a way that makes most sense to native speakers and users of each language and scripts, the website has been first published online in January 15th, 2025. As its very first version, Words of Type aims to improve continuously with more languages, words, and updates on its library.
