CONCEPT:
This was a personal project based on research about indigenous Brazilian tribes. I created this embroidered alphabet after being inspired by their body paintings, basketry, and crafts, which have a strong geometric theme made from lines creating intricate patterns. I used a rustic fabric as a reminder of their art of basketry and the colors red and black to represent their mostly used natural pigments. The final result was similar to a tapestry, with a pattern made from letters and numbers.
