As founder Ev Williams said after the platform launched, ?The ethos behind Medium is one of openness and democracy?like the Internet itself.?



Since their founding, Medium has pursued of that mission, acting as a counterbalance to the downward spiral of online discourse.



This evolution of Medium encourages deeper relationships between readers and writers ? a place for ideas to be challenged and flourish.



New typographic illustrations and a future-inducing new symbol aim to bring readers and writers into discourse. Language becomes a tool for Medium to engage in conversation and speak in service of the great minds on the platform.
