Nebulith

Lynne Yun of Space Type

Play has become a central theme in my work as I progress in my typographic journey. I find myself drawn to the freedom of experimentation—the kind that comes with embracing imperfection. The pursuit of precision is tempting as a type designer, but can also limit exploration. Leaning into play allows me to make small mistakes that lead to unexpected discoveries. Collaboration with other creatives have also become essential, making this space even more exciting.

The header image for ‘PLAY’ is typeset in our upcoming typeface Nebulith, a collaboration with John David Maza. Our recent release, Monochromic, a monospace text typeface, was created with Tamara Segura. As a multidisciplinary type designer, I love incorporating our foundry’s typefaces into independent projects and products for our shop. You’ll find them on scarves, blankets, RISO prints, and zines, all made in our home studios between me and my studio partner, Kevin Yeh. Surrounding myself with these creations brings me joy; they’re not just objects but reminders of the talented friends and collaborators who inspire me.
