Falutin

James Plattner

A serif typeface in the Didone lineage, Falutin’s essence comes from pushing the limitations of the letterform to their extremes. Its fluid curves and teardrop terminals subvert the sometimes stilted formality of its genre, introducing a sense of enthusiastic experimentation colored by the spirit of tradition.

At its core, Falutin is a love letter to iconic fat face designs like Pistilli Roman and Benguiat Montage. The not so secret ingredient is contrast, and lots of it. Vast thick strokes and pencil thin crossbars and serifs: a union that will never expire.

Falutin is in progress and available to license at Future Fonts.
